Digital Retinal Photography
Using modern sophisticated imaging technology we are now able to photograph the light-sensitive tissue called the retina which lines the inside surface of the eye. Changes in the physical structure of the retina can explain changes in your eye-sight or give an indication of general medical concerns such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Digital retinal photography is an important part of a modern eye examination and helps provide a detailed assessment of the health of your eyes. The images obtained are stored and form an invaluable record which can be used for comparison when you next have your eyes examined. Retinal photography is now included as standard in our private eye examination and contact lens reviews. NHS patients can upgrade to this level of service for a small fee.
